305TBI.Chatter comming from front of crank by Harmonic Balancer. Only after its warmed up, always around idle or under 1300, at a stop in drive it sometimes sounds very nasty but pop it in N and it quiets down alot. Took off the belt and it's deff not any other accessory. In park it could be very quiet then all of a sudden it starts a loud chatter, I give it a little gas and it goes away, let off gas as it falls back down to idle chhxchchx.... ?????

could be the timing chain flapping around inside and hitting the cover...

good thought, but why only after it has warmed all the way up?

the metal expands when it is warm, also oil gets thicker when it is cold. those two combined with a warn out chain could make the noise..

JS, would you suggest replacing the sprockets even if the teeth look good and they dont look bent?

replace the whole timing set with a double roller set from comp or another good hp set.
