Hey all,
Well I'm thinking of going and getting the paperwork started along with a deposit in to reserve Peace Valley Park on October 14th (Sunday) for another "casual" gathering... The Final Fall Fling 2007.
Few pics (http://www.97transam.com/f4.php)
Andrew has 1,361 tons more...
Squints88 video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2N_a4OAQoRQ)
typical 97ta video (http://www.97transam.com/movies/97transamBurnout.wmv)
At the moment, the 97TA is not on the road as its getting line-locks and there was a problem with a pre-bent brake line. So you know this means trouble....
I'll post when I have the pavillion permit in my hands...

Yo man, thanks! But right now, like last year, I'll float the initial $100. Its $60 for the pavilion rental which is definitely worth the money as the park ranger came last time and when saw we were "permitted", he laugh and said he would leave us alone for the day. Otherwise they could have harassed us, if you know what I mean. Carol and I were more than glad to supply the dogs and soda for the nearly thirty some that showed up. A few bucks spent to see a nice group of people having a good time is a big reward to us both. Plus I considered it "payment in full" when I got all the photos and the video of me having "tire problems".
I just downloaded the permit application. I'll score a check off Carol and send it to the park office this weekend. Will let you know when I the pavilion is official ours. Then we all can go to town on spreading the word.
On that last note, if I sense that the crowd will be "huge", I might then ask for assistance with food and or beverages. So let's see how things develop, but I appreciate the offer. :)
Maybe I'll ask for help in traffic direction, or scounting patrols for "lost parties" on the wrong side of the lake. Bahahhahahaha.....

Does anyone have the lat/long for the location? That would help for people not getting lost as you can put that in Google for directions as well as GPS. That way it would get you to RIGHT where everyone is...
I've never been there before so I Google'd "Peace Valley Park" and came up with:
http://scenicbuckscounty.com/PeaceValle ... yPark.html (http://scenicbuckscounty.com/PeaceValleyPark/PeaceValleyPark.html)
http://buckscounty.org/government/depar ... alley.aspx (http://buckscounty.org/government/departments/ParksandRec/Parks/PeaceValley.aspx)
and found the address of:
230 Creek Road, New Britain Township, PA
I used that address to get an idea of how long it would take to get there from where I live. At first it said something like 1+ hour to travel 30 miles.... but the new feature in Google maps allows to to "drag" the route to different roads and it quickly went down to 40 minutes-ish...

Well I'm sorry to say, but I just received the official permit issued by the Bucks County Parks system and it has been approved. So it looks like we now have to get the word around and force ourselves to try to have a good time.
bahahhahahhaa.
Started an Official Page (http://www.97transam.com/f4_07.php) to help keep at least one source current with info and what is going on.
The pavilion 5 "holds" 100 people. I told the park that I was expecting 55 so we are covered to take over the whole parking lot. Its ours from 8am until 6pm.
Go forth and spread the word... :D

I'm supplying the basics; the pavillion and the hotdogs. So the chips and soda... I could use help on. That would be cool. Mainly because that would make sure people get the stuff they like.
Definitely time to get the word out. We had a really decent turnout last year and it would be fun to add to it. On my "to do" list is to post photos of key interesections to the pavillion so that we don't initially have half of the group on the wrong side of the lake.

The pavillion is rented for the whole day, from dawn to dusk.
I usually state "noon" but I try get there earlier so as to "rope" off a good section for us so that there are no wtf? cars parked amongst us. So if some of you are coming earlier... that will help.

09-17-2007, 11:05 AM
Sounds good Ron! I remember getting there last year "early" and it was just you and your wife and a couple of those "wtf?" cars in the lot too. Do we technically "own" the parking lot for the day as well, so we can tell people the can't park there or?

People are funny... they come to THAT parking lot to parked and then go walking or something. They "can't" park any where else in the park. bahahahaha. I subtly picked that pavillion because it also doesn't have any kid playground devices, not near the fishing piers and boat launch. Yeah, there is a slight method to my madness....
It is a public park, however, as we get close to the day and I have a fair idea of how many cars are going to show, I can "rope" off section(s) accordingly. The Park Rangers are very understanding of this. I put on the applicatin "55" people and everyone has to "correctly" park in a spot... so that's half of the parking spots. Bahahahahha. The courtsey thing is to leave a few open areas down on that one end and all of us up at the other end with the trees as a backdrop like we did last year.
What really helped me out last year was there was a large corvette group staging for their days cruise right at that spot. They must have gotten there "coffee early" so when I showed up and they left shortly thereafter, the parking lot at that whole section was "clean".

It all makes sense now!! Sounds good. I can't wait!! Eagles are playing the Jets at 1pm that day as well.
We should probably start a new thread so we can get a signup sheet for this meet as with the other ones? Or can a mod or admin edit this and add a poll? Thanks guys!

Sorry (rules link) (http://www.pfxnstaging1.com/government/departments/ParksandRec/PermitApplications/PicnicRules.aspx) no alochol....
I obtain a permit to reserve the pavillion for us for $60. It is well worth it. This way, unless we are really "stupid", the Park Rnagers are on our side if someone complains that we "took all the parking spots"...

Mark, check you PMS
If you would like, we can meet up by my house. I live right by the BP listed in the directions below. I can then lead everyone to the park. Just so no one gets lost.
Here's directions that I would find easiest for you guys coming down from Allentown.
Take Rt. 309 South towards Quakertown. Follow it past Quakertown and onto the expressway.
After the expressway ends, you will go striaght through 4 traffic lights. (Past Wal-Mart)
At the 5th light, turn left, which is County Line Rd. There will be an BP on the left side.

Yea I just cleaned mine up the other day, pressure washed, making sure not to hit or spray at the coil packs. Good thing I decided to do it, because I found that my belt had come half way off the top pullies(tensioner and whatever is on the driverside). Sad thing is I remember looking at it when I got the car, and thinking man that's a weird looking pulley, and not looking any further into it. Makes me wonder how long I was driving like that. Mark if you want to come down, or I'll stop up, and help you with cleaning it, feel free to PM me or text or call. Not like I have anything better to do. And yea guys thanks, I'm effin starving now reading about all this food. Can't wait for this to happen, I wonder how alone tim feels over there in the "other" column.

I've ran into some issues which is raining on my parade with my car. Everything is pretty well buttoned up, but it's idling weird and sticks at like 1500 rpm. I think it's the cheap Summit TB, I'm going to put the stock one back on to see if it goes back to normal. Right now the SES light stays lit, fans running all the time, and it shifts funny. I also detect a slight miss.
Def not cool to drive to the meet. At this point I dont even care if the tires are shot. On a good note, there is a hell of a lot more torque and it sounds great. If I don't make it, I don't make it though. There's always next year!

10/14/2007 Weather
12pm - 62°F
3pm - 66°F
Its not rocket science but figured I'd map it out for people going from Regal Warrington Thearter.
About 8-9 cars are expected to show up and convoy. I am leaving at 11:25am, and encouraging everyone to do the legal speed limit and not doing anything stupid along the way. Hopefully others respect that and will do the same, if not, group up and go on your own. But also, if we get a light and half get through and half don't, I say keep on going cause there aren't too many places to pull over onto the side of the road on these roads. So if you don't know the area too well, ask to follow someone who knows the area real well like myself. Else it should be short and simple.

To all,
Thank you all soooo much for making this event an event once again. Please do not lose sight that it is absolutely nothing without you all showing up. I was hoping, then grateful and then finally blown away with the turnout. When I did a walk through at the "height" of the event, I counted fifty-five (55) vehicles. Already at that point some had slipped off. But the official count by me is at 55. Damn. I was hoping to touch 40. Thanks to all of you, it was an awesome turnout.
Thanks goes out to those of you that brought "stuff". We had sent out my daughter Jessica for more hot dogs... and with some packs that someone brought, The Carol served up over 120. We are both happy that you all ate and we didn't have to cart too much crap back home. We both appreciate those that brought the waters, ice and coolers. There was only half a case of water left and some diet coke.
In all honesty, I was surprised by the cake. Thanks for the moment to "sing" (You all collectively suck) Happy Birthday. Major thanks to Pampered-z's wife Sue for the cake. I think she got the idea from a photo off my website that is also published in a firebird book. I really don't think I am aggressive driver... everyone else drives too slow. Bahahhahahaha. But it wasn't about me, it was all about you people.
The Park Ranger finally showed up at 4:20ish. He came in and exited out of the same entrance, and thus never saw the road. Bahahahhahhahhaha.
I thoroughly enjoyed doing this for you all, and will do so again next year for you. And yeah, I let myself to be persuaded to do a burnout.... (Liz)... but I enjoy more watching you all carrying on.
Thanks for the conversations. Thanks for the sight and burning rubber smells. Thanks to all for coming out.

okay okay okay... this was all a super secret plot to get photos of me doing burnouts. Thanks!!!! bahahahhahaha.
Yeah, the first time I did it, I checked the right mirror to make sure the right side was working and then I checked the left mirror to make sure the other side of the posi was working and when I looked back into the right mirror... the car was filling up with smoke. So I let the line locks off... now I look at the photos... I start laughing all over....
sweeeettttt!!!!:)
btw Andrew, I'm glad I have a polish on the car. damn is that a nice reflection....

nice to see that some people are still respectful of families and such that want to have a relaxing/safe day at a nice park... oh wait, nevermind.

i was just giving my opinion, that its a little bit a. obnoxious, b. irresponsible, and c. inconsiderate to be doing burnouts of that nature in such a public place where there are lots of other people around... not an attack on anyone, just my opinion.

but you weren't even there...so you dont know the manner that they were conducted in. i agree, you have a valid point...but 1) you werent there personally and 2) its not like we were doing it on a open fairless well travelled road by many like easton or street road etc.
granted it wasnt a closed road or anything...but efforts were made to maintain a safe but fun atmosphere. children were mostly seen by the pavillion eating, or playing on the jungle jim, but none the less under constant supervision. when a random car would come around the corner, efforts were made to halt all activity, let them go by, then resume.
sorry, burnouts is what some of us like to do....whether its for practical reasons (at the track) or for fun (in this case) its whats we like to do. granted, your completely entitled to your opinion and im not arguing...but you state your opinion and facts...so im bringing mine to the table.
loosen up a little dude, no animal, child, wife, or wallets were harmed by sunday's afternoon "antics". just some plain simple good ol' innocent fun.

My wife and daughter were personal fans of the burnouts and the exhaust sounds! We even provided a small "family style" burnout for our departure 8)

liz, i live less than 10 minutes away. i had neighbors ask me if i was there taking part in all of that nonsense, assuming i was simply because i too drive an fbody. my PARENTS were driving through and told me that they freaked out and thought a car was going to lose control and hit them. another neighbor wanted to know what group you guys were... im pretty sure he wanted to call the police.
yeah, ive done burnouts. but i havent done one on a public street since after the first week i got my car.

Listen, if you want to have a stupid debate about burning rubber, take it to The Playground. This is the Events section, where people discuss events, not bitch and moan about pissing people off.
1) Get over it
2) This thread is now locked so everyone please post their media in Multimedia & Rides
Stevethepirate/urethralsponge - I advise you keep the bullshit to yourself. By the sounds of your last post I get a strong vibe of how negative you truly are towards the EPFBA.
There is a time and place to hang out, get together, thrash your cars, have a great time with the EPFBA. They are either at Meets or Car shows. If you need a breakdown on what I just said, shoot me a PM.
Sorry guys, thread's closed. No more bickering.
