I just got my wideband sensor installed for my AEM wideband sensor today. When I start the car up it hangs around 15 for a second but then shoots up to 18 and then goes to ---. When I drive it bounces anywhere from 14.9 to 17.9. I know its been a little lean since I put the LTs on, but I dont think it should be doing that. Does anyone know what would make it fluctuate like that? My best guess would prob be an exhaust leak, but Im not sure. Thanks a lot.

Stays really lean arount the 17-18 mark. I dont know why it would lean out like that with just headers, a lid, and an x pipe. Im thinking there must be an exhaust leak that I missed. Maybe the manifold gaskets could be leaking? Would an exhaust leak cause such a lean condition like that?

it could throw the readings off on the wideband if there are exhaust leaks.
id re-check for leaks....use some high temp rtv on the y-pipe and exhaust if you have any leaks...it'll be a little harder to remove if you ever have to take the exhaust off but it seals great.

Well now the wideband stopped working. I had the bung position moved so it had more of an upwards angle (the 10* that the directions recommend). Now it goes through the startup cycle and rests at the default 14.7. As it starts to warm up it slowly climbs point by point untill it breaks 18 and goes to ---. Is this the sign of a dead sensor?
Possibly.. If ya got a bosch sensor they are cheap enough to repalce the last I checked 50-60 dollars.

I dont know why it would just die though. It worked fine before it was taken out to change the angle of the O2 bung, but when we pluged it back in it wouldnt work at all. After the startup cycle it just climbs till it flatlines at ---.
WB02's are finiky (sp?) they don't like to be moved arround or dropped that often. Check over on thirdgen.org in the prom section, Im sure someone has come across this before.
